What we save and who can see it
Draft. This describes what the app does today. The final privacy wording isn't confirmed yet.
What we save
- Your name, your email, and your password in scrambled form. We never save the password itself.
- Which school and class you belong to, and your role (school admin, teacher, consultant, student).
- A student's homework answers, whether each was right, when it was done, and the feedback teachers leave.
- What a student writes in unit homework (the “Your turn” answer and the “Show you can do it” answer), and a mark showing whether the teacher has seen it.
- Class notes (writing a teacher leaves for the class).
- At schools that use 1:1 consulting: the consulting stage, the consultant's private notes, and the results shared with the student.
- One login cookie. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
Who can see it
- Students: only your own class homework, your answers and results, your teacher's feedback, and consulting results shared with you. You can't see other students' answers.
- Teachers: the names, answers, results and unit-homework writing of students in their own class. They can't see other classes or consulting records.
- School admins: a summary of class results at their own school, member names and emails, and the download of class homework results (CSV, including student names, answers and teacher feedback). They can't see writing from unit homework. They can't see private consulting notes or results shared with students.
- Consultants: only the consulting records of the students they work with.
- Other schools: no. Data is kept separate for each school.
- The JAEM team: during this test, they can see the data saved on the server so they can run and fix the app. (Draft: exactly who sees it, and for how long, still needs to be confirmed.)
- Nothing is sent to advertising, analytics or AI services. Student answers are checked with rules inside the app.
- If the test feedback box is on, what you write there and the screen you were on are saved with your account number. Other people in the test may be able to see it.
What isn't decided yet
- How long we keep data, and how to delete your account and records (for now, ask the team to delete them).
- The final wording of the privacy policy and the terms.
